Meta on Wednesday announced that it is expanding its AI features to 21 additional countries. Meta AI includes a chatbot that can be used for conversations or searches, as well a Studio to generate images based on text inputs.
In a press release, Meta confirmed that its AI is now being rolled out to users in 21 additional countries, including Brazil, Bolivia, Guatemala, Paraguay, Philippines, and the United Kingdom. The list also includes many other countries in Latin America and Asia. In the coming weeks, Meta’s artificial intelligence will also be available in the Middle East.
“Following this gradual rollout, Meta AI will be available in 43 countries and a dozen languages. That means more people than ever will be able to use Meta AI to dive deep on topics that spark their interest, get helpful how-tos and find inspiration for art projects, home decor, OOTDs and more,” says the company.
On a related note, Meta AI will also become available on Ray-Ban smart glasses for users in the UK and Australia with today’s rollout. According to the company, its AI is “on track” to become the most used assistant in the world with almost 500 million active users every month.
Meta AI can be accessed independently via a web browser or also through the company’s apps, including Facebook, WhatsApp, and Instagram. Users can use the chatbot to ask for things like recommendations of places to visit or even to generate images. The AI also lets users find out more details about a specific post they see in their feed.
On the other hand, Meta continues to withhold the launch of its latest AI model in EU countries. Similar to Apple, the company fears that local regulations in Europe will force them to implement unwanted changes. Apple, for instance, has said that it has no plans to launch Apple Intelligence in the EU any time soon.
