So many digital tasks require sharing your email address, filling your inbox with emails and making it increasingly difficult to find what you need. To help remedy that issue, Google is introducing updates to summary cards, which will help you access the information you need easily.
On Tuesday, Google unveiled its updated summary cards in Gmail. These cards build on the snippet of information currently shown at the top of your email, which provides helpful insights in places other than the top of your inbox. The updated summary cards will appear in four common email categories: purchases, events, bills, and travel.

The summary cards will have a new look that includes more information and action buttons that make it easier to perform tasks from the email’s content, such as adding an event to your calendar, setting a bill payment reminder, checking into a flight, getting directions, and more.
To ensure the information you find is the most useful, the cards will be updated in real time to reflect the latest statuses, such as flight, reservation, and package updates, and information from all related emails will be organized.
Google is also introducing a “Happening soon” section at the top of inboxes, eliminating the need to click on the individual menu to see the insights. At launch, this section will show purchase summary cards when something noteworthy happens, such as when a package’s shipping information becomes available or when a package will be delivered soon.

The updated purchase summary cards are rolling out to individual accounts on Android and iOS starting today. The rest of the updated summary cards, including event, bill, and travel, as well as the “Happening soon” section, will be unveiled in the coming months.
